Flower Fields, Carlsbad CA, 04.18
Needed an escape from civility but camping trips didn't pan out, so we headed out to check out Old Town Temecula's downtown and antique scene. I picked up one Lego oddity and Beth got a bunch of Little Golden Books for her flower projects. We wrapped Saturday with some wine tasting and then headed over to Carlsbad to check into the hotel with the plan on going to the Flower Fields in the am.
We were at the gate around 9AM thankfully, as the crowd grew and continued to do so until after we left around noon. Its a beautiful spot. Great color all over, and the tractor/wagon ride was a nice break after walking up and down the rows. Go before the season is over, but get there early in the day..
Anyway, how about some pics...
And some closer shots of single flowers that stood out, click the images to see them larger.
There's also a whole greenhouse of Poinsettias in a wide range of shapes, details, and colors. This one is my favorite.
