DIY Lego Minifig Display, 06.17
This is a bit off-topic from my normal blog posts, but I hope it gives some other Lego fan some ideas for an inexpensive minifig display solution.

I picked up two of the "Original Expand-a-Shelf" shelf risers from The Container Store for about $9, it must have been on closeout/sale as the same piece sells for more on Amazon.
Next is time for a test fit. Its not quite wide enough to fit flush in these book cases, but left a little room for plates/etc on each side.
One large grey base plate made enough strips to cover two of the riser units, plus a number of left over strips that I used to make one big bottom plate from 6x8 plates.
Out comes the hot glue gun! Note that I cut the long strips with a straight edge and X-acto knife and then trimmed them to length with some kitchen shears.
Glued down and ready for Minifigs!
And finished! Its a huge improvement from having them all on flat plates!
